Toronto Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette has been named to the team’s 26-man 2025 World Series roster.
The 27-year-old has not played in an MLB game since suffering a knee injury against the New York Yankees on Sept. 6. Despite missing the last three weeks of the season, Bichette finished second in the MLB in hits with 181, only behind Kansas City’s Bobby Witt Jr., who had 184.
Bichette has taken the spot of outfielder Joey Loperfido from the ALCS series. Loperfido was added to the roster midway through the series against the Seattle Mariners to replace right-fielder Anthony Santander, who could not play due to a back injury.
In addition to Bichette, first-baseman and DH Ty France has also been added to the roster in place of right-handed relief pitcher Yariel Rodriguez, which means the Blue Jays will carry 14 batters and 12 pitchers into Game 1 against the NL Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Blue Jays had until 10 a.m. ET to put in their 26-man roster for the 2025 World Series.
The Blue Jays and Dodgers kick off game 1 of the World Series tonight at 8 p.m. ET with 22-year-old phenom Trey Yesavage making his fourth MLB Postseason start against former two-time CY Young-winner Blake Snell.
